About Us

We are a one-stop convenience/grocery store, with the objective of providing native produce and delicacies to all Africans / British Africans living in England.

Objective

The business is an online African store with the aim of selling to African, British African, and Afro Caribbean markets. The objective is to provide native produce and delicacies to the target market audience within the catchment area.

Our mission is to tailor our online store to put  our customers first and focus on our customer’s needs at all times. In a similar vein to Amazon, one of the biggest companies in the world, we are also customer obsessed.

Goals

The owner of Checkers Blue Dot is from West Africa. He likes eating his home country’s food staple dishes.

But he also dreads the moment when he is asked to shop for ingredients, because it means running from one ethnic store to another, searching and foraging between unorganised shelves and layouts, or getting lacklustre customer care.

In short, the experience can be physically exhausting and mentally draining, with choices being overwhelming and intimidating. All these can lead to an increase in the financial and the social risks of choosing the wrong products. He now relies on ethnics restaurant to satisfy his ethnical food craving.

These  (his)  awful shopping experiences, as well as his working experience with Tesco (both in-store and online) and Amazon Logistics, have triggered him to have a passion and necessity to innovate.

He has made it a goal to open an ethnic online supermarket, where the shopping environment is fun and family-friendly, and the product selection is adventurous but simplified.

A simple one-stop store for Africans/British and Afro Caribbean all across the UK.

In November and December of 2019, a feasibility analysis was completed. It validated the idea for the supermarket.
